Our history
Gosselin Courtiers d’assurances is a firm with family values at heart. Established for over 30 years in the Upper St. Lawrence region, the firm was founded by Serge Gosselin and is now managed by his daughter Karine.
Coming from a family of farmers, Serge began his career in the insurance field in the early 1980s. A few years later, his entrepreneurial spirit led him to start his first brokerage firm. His experience and knowledge allowed him to acquire an expertise that he still passes on today to all the employees of Gosselin Courtiers d’assurances.
Following in her father's footsteps and cherishing the same values, Karine joined the firm in 2010. In 2017, Karine became President and CEO of Gosselin Courtiers d’assurances.
A growing company
Karine began her role as president with lots of projects in mind. Less than a year after the passing of the torch, Gosselin Insurance Brokers was one of 11 brokerage firms that obtained the rights for provincial distribution of Wawanesa Insurance products. This acquisition led her to open a second branch in Mercier and thus expand the team.
Our culture
Responsible entrepreneurship
During the past few years, Gosselin Insurance Brokers has been orienting its corporate culture towards responsible entrepreneurship. Our project leaders have a very specific mission, to transform the term "entrepreneur" into a buzzword.
For us, insurance is no longer associated with the idea of a "traditional" world focused solely on finances and income. Our vision of insurance and risk management focuses on advising, supporting and helping individuals, entrepreneurs and farmers to protect their assets.
Our firm is focused on the core of our business: people. We focus our efforts on providing our clients with a service they can trust, thanks to the value of human relationships. To emphasize this orientation, we have chosen to promote the slogan "A human service, a bond of trust".
Engagement & communauté
Much more than insurance!
For Serge and Karine, it has always been essential to get involved in various organizations in the region. In recent years, Serge has been involved as president of the Haut-Saint-Laurent Chamber of Commerce, in the Conference of elected officials, as well as a sit-in for the committee FIL-FLI of the MRC du Haut-Saint-Laurent. As for Karine, she have been a director of the Beauharnois Valleyfield Haut-Saint-Laurent Chamber of Commerce and Industry and she has been a member of the Haut-Saint-Laurent economic development committee for more than 10 years.
Since the beginning of 2022, we have been offering our financial support to all of our employees who choose organizations to which we give donations. The participation of our employees has become an important component of our social involvement.
We are also well aware that the positive social impact of our company must be manifested through concrete actions other than financial. Each year, our employees benefit from a paid day during which they can volunteer for the organization of their choice.
